The Quadrilatère de Beauvais: An Architectural and Cultural Renaissance

The restoration of this building, conceived by André Hermant in the 1970s, has revealed the richness of its architecture while providing the city with new spaces and services: modernized exhibition galleries, redesigned outdoor areas, and direct access to the Gallo-Roman archaeological crypt.

A central feature of the project, the new monumental staircase—crafted in rendered concrete with a sculptural design—fits seamlessly within a structure of complex geometry. It fluidly connects the building’s various areas, creating a strong architectural dialogue between past and present.
