Chatillon Architectes chosen for the rehabilitation project of the Oratory building of the former Saint-Vincent-de-Paul hospital! \ud83c\udfe5 \ud83d\udea7 \none involved in this project!<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

This project, led by SPL Paris and M\u00e9tropole Am\u00e9nagement in collaboration with the City of Paris, the 14th arrondissement's town hall, the neighborhood's coordinating architect, and the Pavillon de l\u2019Arsenal, will transform the former hospital, located in the heart of Paris's 14th arrondissement, into a vibrant cultural hub on the Rive Gauche.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

\ud83d\udca1 After a successful transitional phase with the Grands Voisins initiative, the former Saint-Vincent-de-Paul hospital is set for a bold transformation focused on accessible culture. This new, unique, and inclusive space, named La Fa\u00e7ade Denfert, will feature a mix of uses, including 3,600 m\u00b2 of cultural facilities (concert halls, exhibition spaces, a theater, an artist residence), as well as housing, shops, a restaurant, and an incubator.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

\ud83c\udf0d Around 200,000 visitors per year are expected to enjoy this new lively space.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

\u267b\ufe0f This rehabilitation project aims to highlight the environmental qualities of the buildings while harmonizing the new construction with the existing structures. Designed with an adaptable architectural approach, the project seeks sustainability by anticipating future obsolescence.<\/p>\r\n

As for the transformation of the Oratory building, designed by Chatillon Architectes, the project will align with the goals of the upcoming Bioclimatic Local Urban Plan (PLU). Priority will be given to the existing structures, with efforts to enhance and preserve the biodiversity of the Oratory courtyard, making the most of the unique spaces the site offers. Openings at eye level will revitalize neighborhood circulation, and greenery will create a pleasant walking environment. All transformations will aim to be understated and enduring, with the conservation of floors and the enhancement of unique spaces such as attics and verandas, improving usability. Finally, the annex courtyard of the Oratory building will host public facilities such as a theater, coworking spaces, and an Emma\u00fcs shelter, making this specific parcel a cornerstone of the neighborhood's community life.<\/p>\r\n
